BOSTON SECOND OLDEST CEMETERY
Founded in February 20, 1659 it is the second oldest cemetery after the King’s Chapel Burying Ground (founded in 1630) in Boston. More than 1200 souls are buried here including notables from the American Revolution including Robert Newman, the patriot who placed the signal lanterns in the steeple of the North Church. Prince Hall, abolitionist and the father of Black Freemasonry is also resting in this cemetery
